Jarden's copper-plated coin blanks are manufactured utilizing our proprietary high-speed electroplating process, producing a bright, high-quality finished coin blank.

Typical base materials are zinc and steel.   Zinc based blanks require less plating thickness to achieve desired performance, and fewer processing steps.

The copper layer gives the coin blank a red finish. Another benefit of our process is the deposit of additional plating on the rim of the coin, an area which is particularly subject to wear, thereby increasing the life of the coin.  With decades of circulation history, the copper-plated zinc coin blank is a proven low-cost alternative to other coinage metals.
