Jarden Zinc Products produces brass plated coin blanks. The typical base material is steel. We offer single or multiple plating layers.
We utilize alloy plating technology for our brass finishes. This means that the combination of copper and zinc to form brass is deposited onto the blank surface in the plating bath. Others utilize a diffusion process, where the copper and zinc are plated separately, then heated to diffuse the two into a brass color. Our brass alloy plating typically yields a more consistent, reliable product.
Another benefit of our process is the deposit of additional plating on the rim of the coin, an area which is particularly subject to wear, thereby increasing the life of the coin.
